NOW there’s no reason to leave the water.
Avid golfers beware, there is a new course
on the horizon which may require land
lubbers to acquire sea legs.
The course involves the creation of a
series of artificial islands which would float
on the Indian Ocean around the Maldives
overlooking local reefs.
Connected by underwater walkways, the
course and its facilities would be powered
using solar energy, and according to its
developers, Dutch Docklands, would “not
damage the Maldives region”.
If all goes to plan, golfers should expect to
tee-off in the middle of the ocean by 2015.
ANOTHER reason to cruise.
Amid rising public discontentment over
in-flight airline advertising, reports have
surfaced of just how much money Spirit
and Ryanair are making from clogging up
their passengers’ view.
According to the reports a three-month
overhead bin ad costs a cool US$196,000, a
tray table ad costs $119,000 and to advertise
on the air-sickness bag is $18,500.
