The superliner will remain in
Australia after summer 2012-13
and offer one of three Princess
world cruises from Sydney.
CURRENTLY on its first season in Australia, Sea
Princess is now confirmed to be remaining in
local waters after its next summer deployment.
Instead of returning to Alaska, where it will
spend winter 2012, in winter 2013 Sea Princess
will join sisters Sun Princess and Dawn Princess
to operate a record three world cruises
departing from Australian shores.
Sea Princess’ inaugural round-the-world voyage
will be a 104-night roundtrip from Sydney
visiting 43 destinations including Northern
Europe and a sail past Turkey’s ANZAC Cove.
Departing 20 May 2013, the cruise is priced
from $20,999 per person twin-share.
Dawn Princess will offer the new 90-day ‘Grand
Europe World Cruise’, departing Sydney on 13
July 2013, with fares starting at $17,399pp.
Sun Princess is scheduled for a 75-day ‘Grand
Pacific World Cruise’ around Alaska, Asia and
San Francisco, departing Sydney on 26 April
2013, priced from $14,449pp.
Additionally, a new Indonesian cruise from
Fremantle will feature calls to Bali, Lombok
and Semarang as well as sailing by the historic
HMAS Sydney site off the coast of WA.
Departing Fremantle on 10 June, this 16-night
holiday is priced from $2,799pp twin-share.
Princess Cruises’ commercial director Stan
Birge said the move to introduce three world
cruises reflected the growing popularity of
longer voyages from Australia.
“The decision to leave Sea Princess in
Australian waters for the winter after her
2012-13 summer deployment gives us even
more flexibility to introduce some great new
cruise itineraries,” he said.
“Australians will be able to explore exciting
destinations around the globe while enjoying
all the hallmarks of a Princess cruise, from
great entertainment and cuisine through to
special features like Movies Under the Stars
and The Sanctuary retreat.”
All three 77,000-tonne ships feature Australian
currency onboard, with no tipping required.
Princess Cruises’ 2013 Australian program
opens for sale on Friday (16 December).
