The tour begins with two nights at the five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Singapore, just to get you in the holiday mood. After an invigorating stay we’ll fly to Yangon and transfer you to the fully renovated Strand Hotel. We’ll spend three nights at this historic hotel, declared “the finest hostelry East of Suez” by John Murray in his Handbook for Travellers written in the early 20th century. The 1901-built three-storey five-star hotel in Yangon remains one of Southeast Asia’s few grand colonial hotels and one of its most awe inspiring. The hotel looks amazing and I’ll be personally going to see it before the re-opening in November. After this amazing three-night stay, we fly to Heho, the gateway to Inle Lake.
Upon reaching the edges of Inle Lake, board a private motorboat to head out to Villa Inle Resort for a three-night stay. It’s set in the hills of the southern Shan state in the east of Myanmar, near the border with China, Laos and Thailand.
