We first head to Gangtok, where we have the rare opportunity of gaining real insight into the Tibetan culture. Among other things, we visit the monastery of Rumtek which was the official seat of the Gyalwa Karmapa – the head of the Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism.
After an insightful two days in Gangtok, we travel to Darjeeling. In Darjeeling, we can catch a glimpse of the mighty Kanchenjunga and the other eastern Himalayan peaks.We also take time out to explore the national parks and ancient monasteries such as the Ghoom Monastery.
We head out to explore the stunning state of Assam onboard the MV Mahabaahu.
