Orion Expedition Cruises, newest vessel
Orion II was officially named last week, at
a lavish dockside ceremony in Seattle.
Bucking the trend of star-powered
Godmothers, Orion’s Founder and
Managing Director, Sarina Bratton, made
the unusual decision of turning to its pool
of loyal passengers, to select the three
females who had cruised the most
onboard the cruise line’s Orion.
Between them, – Jill Bennette, Laurel
Norris and Shirley Turtle have clocked up an
impressive 50 Orion cruises, and now share
the prestigious title of Orion II’s Godmother.
According to Orion the three Godmothers
are “well placed to represent guests past,
present and future”.
Following her christening, Orion II
departed on her inaugural 24-night voyage
from Vancouver to Otaru, Japan.
