Changes to fares and
itineraries are designed to
attract more Australians on
2012 Uniworld river cruises.
TIPS INCLUDED IN PRICES, ONCE-IN-A-DECADE
Floriade itineraries and “differently paced”
shore tours are among the new features to
be introduced in 2012 by Uniworld Boutique
River Cruises.
The company is hoping to appeal to more
Australian travellers with options that go
beyond the usual routes offered by other
lines, including two new cruises to see the
famous Floriade expo in Europe.
“Amsterdam to Budapest is flogged by
other brands because that’s what they
have,” said John Molinaro, general manager
Australia, at last week’s launch of Uniworld’s
Europe and Russia 2012 brochure.
“The addition of our two new itineraries
featuring the amazing Floriade festival in
The Netherlands is proof that we are always
enhancing our product to reflect the
interests and tastes of our guests.”
For the first time, Uniworld is also
including all tips and gratuities in fares – a
move that will see prices rise, “depending on
the length of the itinerary and the number of
shore excursions included”, Molinaro said.
Offered from April to September 2012, the
new itineraries include the eight-day ‘Gems
of Germany, Belgium & the Netherlands
with Floriade’, onboard the River
Ambassador, priced from $2,995 per person,
twin share (single supplement from $1,599);
and the 17-day ‘Grand Treasures of Europe’,
priced from $6,695 per person, twin share
(single supplement $3,049).
Next season’s program comprises 30 other
voyages along the rivers of Central and
Eastern Europe, including France, Portugal,
Spain and Russia.
2012 will also see the launch of the
‘Choice is Yours’ shore excursions, which
categorise tours as slow or fast-paced.
The ‘Go Active’ tours cater to passengers
seeking action and adventure, while ‘Gentle
Walking’ is more relaxed.
A pay-in-full discount of up to $3,800 per
couple is valid until 30 September 2011, or
pay your deposit before 30 November 2011
to save up to $1,500 per couple.
