In 2014 Uniworld Boutique
River Cruise Collection will
become all-inclusive in Europe,
with fares to include all drinks
and tipping.
LUXURY river cruises have long offered “free”
shore excursions, transfers, internet and wine
and beer with meals, but Uniworld is taking
the next step up.
From next year, the company will expand its
complimentary beverages to include spirits,
and fares will also cover all gratuities while
onboard and onshore including pre- and postcruise
extensions.
John Molinaro, General Manager of Uniworld
Australia, told Cruise Weekly: “When
travelling, Australians often appreciate not
having to continually reach into their pockets
and worry about paying for additional
expenses.
“Our guests also frequently comment on
how having an all-inclusive holiday that
encompasses beverages, gratuities and shore
excursions packaged up in the one price, adds
to the ease and convenience of their overall
experience.”
Molinaro compared the new offering to
“high-end luxury ocean cruise lines such as
Crystal, Regent and Silversea”.
“Uniworld is dedicated to creating the most
premium and hassle-free holiday for our
valued guests,” he said.
A company spokesperson confirmed that
management in the Los Angeles office was
“still working” on the 2014 preview program
and pricing, but said “we don’t anticipate there
to be a major price increase in next year’s
program”.
Uniworld’s move follows Scenic Tours’
decision last year to introduce all-inclusive
river cruises in Europe in 2013.
APT also includes free drinks on its ‘Platinum’
Europe river cruises.
