VIKING River Cruises has said it will celebrate
its 15th anniversary next year by returning to
its Russian roots, with major enhancements to
its Russian cruise offerings.
The company was founded in 1997 with four
vessels exploring the waterways of Russia.
To mark its 15 year milestone, next year will
see the completion of dramatic bow-to-stern
renovations on all of Viking’s four owned and
operated Russian river ships, which will be
renamed Rurik, Viking Helgi, Viking Ingvar and
Viking Truvor.
Celebrations are also set to spill out into
Viking’s itinerary offerings, with a raft of
enhancements to its popular 13-day
Waterways of the Czars cruise (offered on all
four vessels) planned, including new
excursions and entertainment options such as
a Smithsonian Institution lecture series and
meeting Red Army veterans at Moscow’s
Military Museum.
Viking will also debut a new eight-day
itinerary titled, The Glories of the Hermitage,
which showcases the Hermitage Museum as a
destination unto itself, and includes special
access and private tours by Hermitage scholars.
The cruise line has also launched a new
microsite designed to give cruisers an insight
into Russia, CLICK HERE to view.
