Today Viking Cruises announces the opening of their 2019 Egypt sailing season. Due to overwhelming demand for their new ship Viking Ra and for Egypt as a cruise destination, Viking Cruises has almost sold out of their recently released 2018 Egypt departures. Viking will offer 40 departures in 2019 from January to May and August to December.
“This product is selling itself. Any travel agent talking to a customer who is interested in travelling in 2019, should lock it in now as our new – all suite river ship is in high demand and we expect the 2019 season to sell equally as fast.” said Michelle Black, Managing Director of Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand.
The launch in May this year of their new ship, Viking Ra, and a new Egypt itinerary, Pharaohs & Pyramids, has seen the 2018 season almost sold out already. Viking Ra will boast 24 suites and accommodate 48 guests, reflecting Viking’s award-winning Scandinavian design and intimate sailing experience. Viking Ra, named in honour of the Egyptian sun god Ra, will feature three suite stateroom categories, as well as an onboard spa, two Jacuzzis and an outdoor pool.
During the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, guests will experience Egypt’s cultural treasures across seven ports. The itinerary begins with a three-night stay at a first-class hotel in Cairo, where guests visit iconic sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Citadel of Saladin and Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Guests will then fly to Luxor, where they will board Viking Ra for a 7-day roundtrip sailing on the Nile River to Aswan, featuring excursions to the Temple of Khnum in Esna, the Dendera Temple complex in Qena, and a visit to a colourful Nubian Village where guests can experience a traditional elementary school. Finally, the journey concludes with a flight back to Cairo for a final night in this historic city.
Book the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids cruise from $7,795 per person in a suite category for the 03 May 2019 departure on board Viking Ra. Call 138 747 or visit vikingrivercruises.com.au.
