River cruise specialist Avalon Waterways has added two more Suite Ships to its European fleet, christening its newest Suite Ship Avalon Passion on the Danube on Wednesday, just one week after launching Avalon Imagery II on the Rhine.
The 83-cabin Avalon Passion was launched by godmother Jill Ellis, head coach of the championship US Women’s National Soccer Team, during a ceremony in the Austrian city of Linz.
The two newly built ships are the latest examples of Avalon Waterways’ successful Suite Ship concept, which offers two entire decks of all-suite accommodation and 30 per cent more cabin space than the industry average.
The launch of Avalon Imagery II and Avalon Passion gives Avalon a total of 12 Suite Ships in an overall European fleet of 16 superb vessels. Avalon operates the most modern river cruise fleet in Europe, with ships averaging just over three years in age.
