New ship scheduled for delivery in 2021, along with two more Celebrity Edge-class vessels.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited this morning announced a memorandum of understanding with STX France to build a fifth Oasis-class ship.
The move follows the recent delivery of Harmony of the Seas, with Royal Caribbean ceo Michael Bayley saying the warm reception of the vessel “is evidence that growing this class of ship will continue to drive exceptional performance for the brand”.
The company has also flagged two new Edge-class vessels for delivery in 2021 and 2022 – even though the first one is still more than two years from delivery. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises president, said there had been “a tremendous amount of interest around the new standard of style Edge-class will introduce”.
