The 40-guest vessel will be more than twice the size of her fleetmate, the much-loved Emmylou.
A new five-star, $6.75 million vessel is set to join Murray River Paddlesteamers’ fleet in late 2024, Director Craig Burgess has told Cruise Weekly.
The luxury 20-cabin ship will offer cruises of up to one week in length along the Murray River, and is set to be a “game-changing” drawcard for the region, Burgess believes.
The three-deck vessel, with a working title of ‘Australian Star’, will offer year-round, all-inclusive cruises from Echuca, with Murray River Paddlesteamers to target her at high-yield visitors from around Australia and the world.
Built locally in Mildura, the Echuca-based paddlesteamer project has been supported with a $2.25 million investment from the Victorian state government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund.
