A rare and wonderful treat for lovers of European cruising is now on sale in Australia.
CroisiEurope, Europe’s longest-established river-cruise company, is celebrating its 40th anniversary next year with an incredible 41-night combination river cruise on Europe’s great rivers: the Guadalquivir, the Guadiana, the Gironde, the Loire, the Seine, the Rhine, the Danube and the Black Sea.
Worldwide Cruise Centres, which represents CroisiEurope in Australia through its CruiseAbroad arm, has released ‘40th Anniversary Cruise with CroisiEurope’ from A$17,339 per person twin share for a main deck cabin.
That rate is valid until the end of January 2016 unless sold out – and it is very likely to sell out. Extensive European cruise options are extremely popular with Australians – and this is a one-off that lasts almost six weeks. Never before has any cruise company released such a multiple-destination European cruise itinerary. It departs from Seville, Spain, in May 2016.
CroisiEurope is a family-owned and operated business based in the French city of Strasbourg. The family is sparing no effort to ensure that its 40th Anniversary Cruise is unforgettable.
Countries visited, in order, are: Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. River cruising maximises shore time so you can really get to know the places you visit.
All sorts of memorable extras, surprise visits and tours are included. CroisiEurope won’t give all the secrets away, but it has confirmed that celebrations to mark its 40th anniversary will include red carpet festivities when boarding, plenty of tastings, prizes and gifts during the whole cruise – and a special gala dinner with the Schmitter family in Strasbourg aboard the MS Gérard Schmitter, named after CroisiEurope’s founder. An onboard photographer will capture special moments.
All meals aboard are included. Cuisine is superb; as you’d expect from a line staffed by French chefs. Unlimited complimentary onboard beverages are covered in the price, including beer, fine wine, spirits, mineral bottled water, soft drinks, specialty coffees and tea.
‘40th Anniversary Cruise with CroisiEurope’ includes two European flights: from Paris to Seville and from Constanta to Paris. Imaginative guided shore excursions are conducted throughout the itinerary.
The ships involved are four of CroisiEurope’s finest:
MS La Belle de Cadix
MS Cyrano de Bergerac
MS Botticelli
MS Gérard Schmitter
All transport and transfers between them is included.
The great rivers on this holiday flow through some of Europe’s most scenic regions. Verdant countryside, medieval villages, flourishing vineyards and ancient castles – all wait to be explored.
‘40th Anniversary Cruise with CroisiEurope’ gets underway with a flight from Paris to the Spanish city of Seville on 5 May 2016. You’ll be greeted aboard MS La Belle de Cadix by flamenco dancers and singers. After comfortably settling into your cabin, meet captain and crew at a welcome cocktail. After dinner, take advantage of free time in historic Seville.
The next five weeks is filled with some of Europe’s greatest scenery and most scintillating experiences. Sip cocktails in Seville’s Alcazar palace; take in a flamenco show in the pastel-painted city of Cádiz; spend a day touring Grenada, where the Moorish Alhambra palace seems straight out of A Thousand and One Nights. You’ll tour the great French vineyards of Médoc, visit a historic chateau in the Gironde region, take a guided tour of Bordeaux and explore the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, located on an island in the middle of the Indre River.
Visit the illuminated gardens of Chenonceau; tour the Royal Château of Amboise to gaze at the Loire valley; sample cafés, bars and music along the famous Drosselgasse in Rudesheim on the Rhine; tour Amsterdam’s canals and greatest galleries; cruise the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, one of the engineering wonders of the world.
There’s more. A guided tour of Nuremberg; a visit to the vast and stupendously ornate Abbey of Melk overlooking the Danube River; Austrian sparkling wine in Vienna; the wonders of Budapest; a tour of Belgrade, where remnants of the Habsburg legacy contrast with Ottoman relics.
Never before has Europe been captured so imaginatively in 41 nights.
