IT seems excitement about a Cunard cruise is not limited to ordinary folk, with the former President of America, George Bush Sr, overheard saying “I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks,” before stepping onboard QM2. Confirming his excitement, Barbara Bush said “You’ve been talking about nothing else for months”. The power couple joined QM2 with their daughter Dorothy and their granddaughter Georgia for a seven day trans-Atlantic voyage which departed Southampton on 27 April. The former President and his family were greeted by Cunard Line President Peter Shanks, who met them after embarkation, along with David Dingle, CEO, Carnival UK; Captain Kevin Oprey, Master of Queen Mary 2; and John Duffy, the liner’s Hotel Manager. George and Barbara Bush are pictured below onboard QM2 with Captain Kevin Oprey (left).
