A North Sydney travel agent has come back new from Japan following a nine-night tour of the country with Princess Cruises.
Cruise 1st agent Jordan Smith, who won the trip on Diamond Princess during a January sales promotion, said the recently refurbished ship was a great choice for a Japanese cruise.
“The ship was built in Japan and feels very at home calling into the wonderful ports on offer,” Mr Smith said. “Plus Princess has incorporated many of fantastic cultural and gastronomic delights of Japan into the ship’s traditional menus and entertainment program allowing for a great fusion of experiences.”
Starting in Yokohama, Mr Smith’s nine-night Ancient Capitals itinerary visited Kagoshima, Busan South Korea, Kanazawa, Maizuru and Sakaiminato.
“My favourite port would definitely be Kagoshima where we experienced a traditional Japanese volcanic sand bath, which is a process in which your full body is buried in hot sands – approximately 45 degrees celcius – for 20 minutes,” Mr Smith said.
“I’d certainly recommend the Princess Japanese experience on Diamond Princess to any of my clients,” he said. “I’m already looking forward to Diamond’s 2014-15 local season so that I can show this wonderful vessel to as many people as possible.”
