Earlier this month, Deana Crouch of Adelman Vacations, sailed on the christening voyage of Avalon Waterways’ ninth Suite Ship, the Avalon Tapestry II. The ship was christened by the ships’ godmother, Diana Gabaldon, author of the bestselling novel series OUTLANDER. Following the christening, passengers boarded the 361-foot, 128-passenger ship to begin the Paris-to Paris cruise along the Seine River.
“The suites onboard the Avalon Tapestry II are truly amazing,” said Crouch. “They are incredibly spacious, and their floor-to-ceiling windows, which can be opened to create an Open-Air Balcony, offer magnificent views of the scenery and historic cities along the river.”
The 8-day itinerary included stops in Giverny to visit Claude Monet’s gardens, an excursion to the Normandy landing beaches, Joan of Arc’s historic Rouen and highlights of Paris.
“The itinerary was truly awe-inspiring,” said Crouch, “and it was so humbling to see the beaches of Normandy.”
In addition to the route north of Paris, the Avalon Tapestry II will be included in extended northbound and southbound cruises to and from Paris to Cote d’Azur on the Mediterranean coastline of southeast France.
