APT and Travelmarvel have significantly expanded their trade sales support team for Australia, announcing a total of eight new appointments, all of whom have joined the award winning luxury tour and cruise operator ready for 2015. This brings the team size up to a total of 29.
Commenting on the expansion of the APT and Travelmarvel sales team, General Manager Sales and Marketing Debra Fox said, “Delivering exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything we do and that is especially important for our valued trade partners. We have made a significant investment in growing our sales team. As well as adding to our on road team we have also made some strategic appointments. With eight new team members now in role and two more positions being recruited for, I am proud to say that APT and Travelmarvel now offer trade partners access to one of the largest sales support networks of any wholesaler in Australia.”
New appointments include:
Karen Newbury, State Sales Manager, Queensland
Karen Newbury has been appointed as State Sales Manager for Queensland. Promoted from the Business Development Manager role, which she has held for the past 3.5 years, Karen was also formerly a top selling travel agent.
Alan Allison, Business Development Manager (BDM), Queensland
Alan joins the APT and Travelmarvel team from Flight Centre Business School where he has been responsible for rolling out recruitment and training. He also has extensive former experience as a retail travel agent.
Marlene Nolan, Business Development Manager, Queensland
Having formerly held Business Development Manager roles at both MSC Cruises and Territory Discoveries, Marlene has extensive relationships and experience in the Queensland market.
Claire Haggarty, Business Development Manager, New South Wales
Claire Haggarty was previously a BDM at Creative Holidays, prior to which she accrued many years experience as a retail travel consultant.
Jacinta Crisp, Business Development Manager, Victoria
Jacinta Crisp joins APT from Cox and Kings / Tempo where she has spent the past ten years serving in the roles of BDM, National Sales and Reservations Manager.
Claire Freeman, Retail Communications Coordinator
Claire Freeman joins the Inside Sales team bringing with her a wealth of digital communications experience, most recently working with Monash University. Claire will be responsible for looking after all trade communications.
Susie Coughlin, Travelmarvel National Sales Manager
Susie Coughlin has been appointed to the newly created role of Travelmarvel National Sales Manager. Susie will work very closely with the on-road team on Travelmarvel opportunities within the trade and will also liaise closely with the groups and charters teams. Susie has worked within the APT sales for the past 20 years, including 12 years as State Sales Manager for Victoria and Tasmania.
Damian Borg, Channel Strategy Manager
Damian Borg joins APT in the newly created role of Channel Strategy Manager. His main focus will be on working closely with the on-road sales team on group and charter opportunities as well as being responsible for managing online travel agents and the roll out of APT’s bookable API to agents. Industry experience includes roles at Virgin Australia, Globus family of brands where he was National Sales Manager, and Head of Product at Travelscene American Express.
APT is also currently recruiting for a further two roles; a new BDM for Victoria and Tasmania and a Trade Events Coordinator.
