A group of VIP Travel Agents who travelled aboard APT’s recent MS AmaReina Christening Cruise were personally welcomed by His Serene Highness Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein as they attended an exclusive soiree hosted by the award-winning APT at Vienna’s newly refurbished City Palace.
Following the royal welcome, the group was afforded the opportunity to view some of the Palace’s rooms before enjoying a Cocktail reception and exclusive and private classical concert featuring masterpieces from Strauss and a performance by members of the Mozart Boys’ Choir.
Austria is steeped in regal history and its capital city, Vienna, is no exception. The City Palace, a stunning aristocratic residence, is situated in the heart of the city and as part of its ‘Signature Experience’ sightseeing program, APT has arranged for all guests travelling on its Magnificent Europe itineraries in 2014 and 2015 to have exclusive private access.
Completed in 1694 by Prince Johann Adam Andreas I. of Liechtenstein, the Palace boasts many Baroque features, including one of the best grand staircases in Vienna.
Performing at the evening event, the Mozart Boys’ Choir of Vienna is a community of boys aged from eight to twenty-one. While the tradition of Boys Choirs in Austria goes back to the 15th century, the present day choir was founded in 1956 to celebrate the 200th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Today the choir performs at private events both at home and abroad.
