CLASSIC International Cruises’ Athena
departed Australian waters for the last time
this season over the weekend, and has begun
her return voyage to Europe, after her longest
and most successful season ever in Australia.
The 2011/12 season was Athena’s eighth
consecutive summer in Australian waters, with
the vessel offering a six-month program from
Perth and Adelaide.
So successful was her longer regional stay,
that CIC reported a 7% increase in revenue
compared to last season, and an average
repeat passenger rate of 45% (which peaked
at 62% on Athena’s 38-night, round-trip
voyage from Perth to Japan earlier this month).
