Australian travellers are choosing river cruise holidays in record numbers – and not just in Europe.
According to a spokesman for French based Mekong Cruises and The Luang Say Residence, cruising the mighty Mekong through lush jungle, mountains and teak plantations in Laos aboard a 34 metre river purpose built barge is luring record numbers from Down Under.
The company has appointed Melbourne based Jane Basiuk to handle the new level of inquiries from Australia.
Proprietor of Global Hotels and Marketing Australasia, Jane describes the Mekong products as a wonderful addition to her current portfolio that encapsulates Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and France.
To celebrate the appointment, the company has announced a stay three nights pay for two offer valid until the end of November at the 5 star Luang Say Residence.
Mekong Cruises offers two experiences on the river – the two or three day Luang Say cruise is very popular with visitors to Thailand looking for an easily accessible but unforgettable look at Laos. The cruise heads down the mighty Mekong from the Thai border to the ancient royal capital of Luang Prabang, home to the Luang Say Residence, the only Small Luxury Hotels of the World property in Laos.
In keeping with the fragile and beautiful environment which slowly unfolds during the cruise, guests spend one night in a locally constructed teak and rosewood bungalow right on the water’s edge described by a recent guest as a stunning location.
The Vat Phou cruise is a three day voyage aboard a luxury floating hotel departing from Pakse.
Only three years old, the 5 star Luang Say Residence boutique hotel is set on 14,000 sqm of land in lush and tropical gardens. In the evening, guests enjoy a drink in the colonial 1861 bar before moving the restaurant La Belle Epoque to indulge in the Laotian or French inspired menu featuring produce from the nearby organic garden.
