TWO new ships have hit the
European rivers, Avalon
Waterways’ Avalon Vista and
Avalon Visionary.
Sisterships to the
company’s first Suite Ship,
the Avalon Panorama (which
launched in 2011) the duo
were christened at a
ceremony last Friday in the
Netherlands and are now set
to operate itineraries on the Rhine and Danube.
Both of the vessels feature two entire decks of all-suite accommodation, as well as wall-to-wall
panoramic windows that draw back to turn the entire suite into an open-air balcony.
Individually, the Avalon Vista measures 135m and features 83 cabins, whilst Avalon Visionary
measures in at 110m and is slightly smaller with 64 cabins.
“Everything about the Suite Ships has been designed with Australians in mind, from the décor
and fittings right through to the cuisine and the espresso coffee,” said Avalon Waterways’
Managing Director Australasia Stewart Williams.
“The response has been fantastic and Avalon Waterways has this year broken all previous sales
records in Australia as a result,” he added.
The launch is not the end of Avalon’s newbuilds, with the company set to introduce two new
Suite Ships, Avalon Artistry II and Avalon Expression next year, bringing the tally of Avalon Suite
Ships to five.
