Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has announced the 2016 dates for two of the local cruise industry’s biggest events – the annual Cruise Industry Awards gala dinner and the Cruise3sixty Australasia industry conference.
The events will be staged in separate months next year, with the Cruise Awards dinner set for Saturday February 20 and Cruise3sixty to be held on Friday May 6.
CLIA General Manager Brett Jardine said 2016 scheduling reflected the continuing growth of the local cruise industry.
“While both the awards and Cruise3sixty have been held in February the past two years, we know that the peak of the cruise season is an increasingly busy time, not only for our delegates but also for our speakers and sponsors,” Mr Jardine said.
“As CLIA Australasia expands as an organisation these events are only going to get bigger, so we felt the time was right to separate them in the calendar.”
Mr Jardine said both events would be held at the Star Event Centre in Sydney, which proved a popular venue this year.
Tickets for the awards and Cruise3sixty will go on sale later this year.
