CRUISE Lines International Association’s (CLIA) travelling education program CLIA LIVE returned in Brisbane this week after last year’s hiatus (CW 22 Mar).
The event provided a welcome lift for CLIA’s members, with dozens gathering at Sofitel Brisbane Central on Tue and Wed to hear presentations from 27 different cruise lines, which provided insight into their latest initiatives and their evolving guest experience in the new era of cruising.
The event was a sell-out, with a following two to be held next month in the Gold Coast and Sydney, before heading to other cities across Australia later in the year.
Attendee Rose Febo from TravelManagers said the event was a reminder the travel industry is all about people.
“Relationships and human interaction involved in serving clients which is at the heart of what drives us,” Febo said.
