Luxury cruise brand, Cunard, has unveiled its November 2019 to June 2020 programme, which includes Cunard’s first ever Christmas celebrations in Australia, sailing through the heart of the Amazon River, a new World Voyage, and more ‘overnights’ in port. Travelling almost 150,000 nautical miles, the most famous ocean liners in the world will call at 123 destinations in 48 different countries, including 10 maiden calls for our current fleet.
Always committed to listening to their guests from around the world, Cunard has announced an increase in variety and options of sailing choices, as well as the amount of time and number of ‘overnights’ guests can spend in some of the world’s most iconic destinations.
Queen Elizabeth shall operate a series of compelling exotic voyages that offer richer, deeper and more regionally-focused itineraries. Queen Mary 2 will undertake Cunard’s only World Voyage in 2020, on a classic East-West Voyage to Australia and Asia, and Queen Victoria will circumnavigate South America, along with a Panama Canal transit.
Key voyage highlights for 2020 include:
- Christmas in Australia: Cunard guests will be able to celebrate Christmas in Australia for the first time ever, on board Queen Elizabeth. Followed by serene cruising in the Fiordland National Park on Boxing Day, they’ll also be well positioned to be amongst the first in the world to see in the New Year, from Auckland, New Zealand.
- Deeper, Richer Experiences: Offering a series of more regionally-focused itineraries Queen Elizabeth will start in Australasia with visits to the remote human populations of Papua New Guinea. A classic route from Sydney to Yokohama will take in exotic Asian destinations such as Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea. Then after exploring the deep cultural roots of Japan, where she’ll make five maiden calls, Queen Elizabeth will sail to the splendours of Alaska.
- The World Voyage: Sailing for 99 nights Cunard’s iconic flagship Queen Mary 2 will embark on a classic East-West exploration to Australia and Asia, via the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean, and Southern Africa. It’s the ideal travel experience on board one of the world’s most luxurious ships.
- Discover South America: On an exotic winter escape Queen Victoria revisits South America, offering immersive destinations and visiting the major cities. After a maiden call in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she’ll sail up the scenic Amazon to Manaus, round Cape Horn, and transit the Panama Canal on this incredible journey of discovery.
- Extended Overnight Stays: Cunard’s new programme has 15 overnight stays in some of the world’s most fascinating and inspiring destinations, as well as a 24 late evenings in port. Extra time ashore allows for more in-depth exploration of a destination and a chance to sample an evening tour, have dinner, or experience the local nightlife.
Cunard will also be re-introducing a series of ten ‘old favourite’ destinations that we haven’t travelled to in recent years, including Albany (Australia), Hanoi (Vietnam), Bitung (Indonesia), and Jeju Island (South Korea).
