350 passengers and crew members the new limit, up from 150.
The NT has become the first jurisdiction in Australia to act following last week’s National Cabinet commitment, permitting expedition cruise ships with up to 350 passengers and crew members to operate within its waters.
The new capacity limit is a significant increase on the previous total of 150 passengers and crew members.
Commenting on the move, Ponant Chair Asia-Pacific Sarina Bratton said now is the time for the federal government to “immediately adjust the declaration under the Biosecurity Act to allow our operations in Australian waters to commence.”
