Matthew Rutherford steps in to fill role vacated last year by long-serving regional VP, Stuart Allison.
Princess Cruises has appointed Matthew Rutherford as its new Vice President Asia Pacific, overseeing the cruise line’s operations in Australia, Japan and regional Asia.
Rutherford, who has been with Carnival for 10 years, steps up to his new role from his former post as Vice President of Revenue Management and Deployment for P&O Cruises Australia, which is now in its final month before the brand is closed.
Princess Cruises Chief Commercial Officer, Terry Thornton, said Rutherford’s “well-rounded expertise in revenue management, strategic planning and data-driven decision-making would be invaluable in driving the line’s Asia Pacific growth.
To assist with the transition, Princess has expanded the remit of Senior Director Sales and Marketing, Nick Ferguson, to encompass Asia Pacific and support Japan and regional Asia teams.
