Includes premium Concierge Class staterooms, exclusive shore tours, onboard drinks and private wine events aboard Celebrity Solstice
Cruise Express is inviting wine buffs or just lovers of a good drop to join an exclusive, new, wine-themed cruise it is hosting to New Zealand next April aboard Australia’s highest-rated cruise ship, Celebrity Solstice.
Sailing round-trip from Sydney on April 3, 2017, the 10-night, all-inclusive ‘Voyage to the Vineyards’ cruise will be accompanied by wine experts from New Zealand and Australia who will host special gourmet food and wine events for Cruise Express passengers onboard the luxury ship.
Experts from Torbreck in the Barossa Valley and Villa Maria in New Zealand will conduct wine seminars and tastings during the cruise and guide Cruise Express guests through two wine-pairing luncheons in Celebrity Solstice’s specialty restaurant, Tuscan Grille.
The new package also includes a welcome aboard cocktail reception hosted by Cruise Express and behind-the-scenes tours of Celebrity Solstice’s culinary operations and 1800-bottle wine glass tower. Onboard sommeliers will also be on hand to answer passenger questions about the ship’s wine offerings.
In addition, the package includes a complimentary, onboard ‘Classic Beverage’ package allowing Cruise Express guests to enjoy some of the ship’s 400 varieties of wine from around the world. The package also includes complimentary, selected beer, spirits, cocktails and liqueurs.
Four complimentary, wine-themed shore tours are also part of the ‘Voyage to the Vineyards’ package in each of the four ports – Dunedin, Akaroa and Picton (near the famous Marlborough wine region) on the South Island and Wellington (near the Martinborough wine region) on the North Island.
During the cruise, Celebrity Solstice will also sail through Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds in New Zealand’s spectacular Fjordland where thundering waterfalls spill from vertical peaks into glassy fjords.
Cruise Express’ special package includes accommodation in the ship’s premium Concierge Class Verandah Staterooms which offer a welcome bottle of sparkling wine, afternoon canapes, fresh fruit, plush bathrobes, pillow menu, free shoeshine and priority check-in, disembarkation and restaurant seating.
The 2800-passenger Celebrity Solstice features 10 restaurants, a Napa Valley-styled ‘Cellar Masters’ bar specialising in exotic international wines, an ice-topped martini bar and an outdoor bar at the Lawn Club where you can drink wine while relaxing on real grass.
Hosted by a Cruise Express Tour manager, the ‘Voyage to the Vineyards’ cruise tour is available from $3790 per person, twin-share in a Concierge Class Verandah Stateroom, and from $5790 for solo travellers.
