CHINA Merchants is exiting the luxury cruise business, selling its ship Zhao Shang Yi Dun, with Viking rumoured to be a potential buyer.

Viking did not comment.
According to news website Jiemian, she has slowly moved away from China-based home ports, introducing Japan itineraries, then disappearing from China routes altogether.
It is also believed that Yi Dun struggled to capture enough demand from affluent Chinese travellers looking for a slow cruise experience.
