BOTH Royal Caribbean and NCL have moved
to allay fears caused by their interporting
options starting this year, in the wake of the
Concordia disaster, telling media that they will
hold safety drills on the day of departure.
Interporting has raised concerns recently,
after Concordia picked up a second lot of
passengers in Civitavecchia and sunk hours
later without holding a safety drill.
Both Brilliance of the Seas and Norwegian
Epic will commence interporting this year,
onboard a series of seven-night South
Caribbean cruises (embarking in San Juan and
Guadeloupe) and seven-day Western
Mediterranean cruises (embarking in Barcelona,
Civitavecchia and Marseille) respectively.
