LOOK out! Queen Mary 2 just got better,
following the completion of a major
refurbishment in Hamburg between 24
November and 06 December.
Guests can now look forward to new
carpeting, curtains and bedspreads in all of
QM2’s 1,310 staterooms and suites; as well as
a redesigned Golden Lion Pub which exudes a
British pub atmosphere with warm colours
and plush seating as well as new plasma TVs.
Other improvements include reconditioned
teak surrounding QM2’s hydrotherapy pool
and adjacent wet areas, as well as a general
upgrade of all the Canyon Ranch SpaClub
facilities and new exercise machines in the
fitness centre.
Meanwhile new carpet has also been laid in
QM2’s Queens Grill and Princess Grill
Restaurants, as well as her Commodore Club
which also received additions to the white
leather furnishings of chairs, sofas and stools.
New soft furnishings and carpet were also
added to QM2’s Veuve Clicquot Champagne
Bar (pictured below) and Sir Samuel’s, whilst
younger guests will appreciate upgrade’s to
the vessel’s Play Zone which include new soft
play areas, and the very latest in electronic
gaming technology and entertainment.
Following the completion of work, QM2
sailed back to her homeport of Southampton,
UK, where she will wow guests cruising on her
upcoming Transatlantic Crossings, Europe and
World voyages.
