A ROYAL Caribbean passenger has launched
legal action over an alleged assault on her by a
crew member onboard Navigator of the Seas.
It is alleged that the assault, which was
partially captured on the ship’s CCTV cameras,
took place during a New Year’s Eve cruise in
the Eastern Caribbean.
According to the lawsuit, the woman was led
into a bathroom and assaulted by the crew
member after she asked him for a towel.
The woman managed to get away and report
the incident to the ship’s security who
detained the crew member and reported the
assault to the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile a spokesperson for RCCL said
“Once we became aware of the incident, Royal
Caribbean’s onboard security immediately
responded and preserved information and
potential evidence that could be helpful to law
enforcement”.
“Royal Caribbean maintains strict policies
governing employee interaction with guests.
“Due to the violation of this policy, the crew
member in question is no longer employed by
Royal Caribbean,” the spokesperson added.
