IT seems that the Saga Sapphire is again
experiencing mechanical troubles, with the
vessel running into problems with its back-up
generator last Friday whilst in Trömso Fjord.
Saga Cruises’ onboard engineering team
worked “around the clock” to fix the issue, and
on Saturday external experts were called in to
help achieve a “permanent solution”.
The fix and subsequent testing of the backup
generator was completed on Saturday night
and the Sapphire set off for Bergen on Sunday
morning.
“We will, of course, do the right thing by our
customers and properly recognise that we
have not been able to complete our planned
itinerary,” a spokesperson for Saga told CW.
