CAPTAIN Cook Cruises is hosting a Transit of
Venus Breakfast Cruise on 06 June with special
guest, astronomy expert Dr Desmond Barrett,
priced from $55 (adult), $45 (conc) and $39 (child).
Kicking off at a respectable 7.30am, the voyage
will give guests front row tickets to see Venus
transit across the face of the sun, a phenomenon
that won’t happen again for another 105 years.
Interestingly, the 2012 June transit will be
only the 8th one ever possibly witnessed by
humans.
The transit of Venus can only be viewed safely
using Eclipse-Shades which will be provided to
all passengers on the cruise, as will commentary
on the event by Dr Barrett, and a hot and cold
buffet brekkie with juice, coffee and tea.
