NORWEGIAN Cruise Lines has announced a
new environmental offering, under which
passengers are able to offset their “carbon
footprint” by making a voluntary donation
towards renewable energy projects.
The move is in partnership with US wind and
solar power company NextEra Energy
Resources, which operates a Renewable
Energy Trust to build green power facilities.
The scheme suggests US$10 per person per
cruise, with 100% of the funds received from
North American passengers going to projects
across the USA.
