NZ Government grants conditional approval for February restart.
Ponant Cruises has just confirmed it has been given permission to operate New Zealand domestic cruises starting in February 2021.
The cruise line’s luxury expedition ship Le Laperouse will operate exclusively in New Zealand waters and carry New Zealand passengers.
The initial departure is scheduled for 08 February on a 14-night Chatham Island and Subantarctic Islands Expedition itinerary.
Additional subsequent departures will visit a range of coastal features including Stewart Island, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound and Dusky Sound.
Permission to operate the program follows months of intensive engagement with the NZ Ministry of Health.
